To learn how to play the guitar, you have to first learn to play the acoustic guitar before learning to play the other types of guitars such as the electric and the bass guitar. But let's face it; learning how to play the guitar is sometimes hard so here are some tips on how to learn to play the guitar the easy way.

• Buy a guitar

First of all, what you need to do before learning how to play the guitar is to buy a guitar to learn with or to learn to play on. The reason for this is that you need to have a feel of the guitar of your choice; this is a way of knowing your own guitar. It is like a mutual relationship between the guitar player and the guitar. In order to create music with the guitar, you have to first be one with your guitar or simply you have to be comfortable with the guitar that you are playing. This is not based on science but if you ask other musicians they prefer to play their own musical instruments since they have already become comfortable with these.

• Have someone or ask someone to teach you the basics.

Let's face it; learning to play the guitar is not that easy without someone teaching you or guiding you along the way. There are two ways to do this; one is that you can hire someone to teach you which is great since you are paying, and you can expect the teacher to of course teach you well (it is now just a matter of the teacher's experience). The other way is to ask someone like a relative or a close friend that you know to teach you the basics. This way you can learn well depending on the relationship that you have with the person teaching you.

• Know your chords

When learning to play the guitar, the best way to go is to remember all the chords first. There is no problem with learning a new song if you know your chords well enough because this is the very basic of learning to play the guitar and it probably comprises most of the basic training on guitar playing. Guitar chords are not that hard to learn as it only uses your fingers on the strings and you're good to go. The only hard part of playing the guitar is when doing some tricks with it or playing with other types of chords aside from the basic chords. Once, you memorize all the basic chords in playing a guitar, there will be no problem for you at all and you will just notice that you are already playing like a pro.
