The Bill Lawrence L500XL Hot Humbucker is the same bridge pickup made for Washburn original Dimebag Darrell guitars, and for the Original Nuno Bettencourt guitars. Like all Bill Lawrence guitar pickups, the L500XL, is powerful and packed with great tone.Each coil on the Hot Humbucker is carefully wound to precise specifications which prevents internal shorts and guarantees consistent sound quality. All L500XL pickups are treated with high temperature resistant wax to reduce micro phonic squealing.Each Bill Lawrence pickup must pass a quality control check. DC and the total resistance are measured, the inductance and the Q Factor. But most importantly, Bill has developed a system that detects minor shorts or semi-shorts in a coil. These shorts will cause eddy currents to flow in the coil. Eddy currents interfere with the signal, alter the sound reproduction and cause severe losses. All Hot Humbucker coils must be free of internal eddy current interference to pass final inspection.Bill Lawrence's low prices may surprise you, but there is a simple explanation.
